It Started With Sensitive Skin

Skinpiens began with frustration.

Our founder, Kris, has struggled with acne-prone, sensitive skin since his teens.

He tried everything—harsh treatments, high-strength actives, and trending “miracle” products—thinking stronger was better.

It wasn’t.

Instead of healing, these approaches damaged his skin. Over-exfoliation, aggressive ingredients, and poor guidance left it sensitised and reactive.

Eventually, high-potency actives became intolerable. The skin barrier had to be rebuilt from scratch.

That experience changed Kris’s approach to skincare forever.

From Trial & Error to Skin Science

The turning point came through pharmacy training.

Studying skin biology, inflammation, and ingredient science showed Kris what skin truly needs—not hype, but balance.

He deepened this knowledge through cosmetic science and further studies in dermatology.

This combination shaped Skinpiens’ philosophy: High-performance actives can deliver results without irritation when formulated correctly.

The Problem With Modern Skincare

Today’s skincare often celebrates stronger acids, higher actives, and faster results.

But skin isn’t built for constant stress.
